I’m often told by new parents that they felt so unprepared for the immediate time after birth and the first few days with baby. Bringing your baby home can be overwhelming, with expectations of those early weeks being so very far away from the reality. This can result in huge anxieties and self doubts with you questioning your ability to parent….and so that’s where I can help.
As a private specialist midwife, I am able to focus on the areas that aren’t a priority to mainstream services. I can help you prepare for the early days, to understand your baby and the transition to life whilst creating a calm, stress free home environment. My support will give you a deep understanding of your physical and emotional transition to becoming parents, helping you feel prepared, reassured, and excited.
Parent preparation sessions are very individual and really do depend on you and your individual circumstances. These sessions can be for you alone, include your partner and even grand parents, providing the most up to date, evidence based information. The crucial 4th trimester will be addressed in depth, providing you with the confidence to embrace parenthood. So whether you’re a fostering family, you’re welcoming a baby through adoption or starting a family through surrogacy, I’m here to help.
You can also access hands on expert support and education in those early weeks, helping improve attachment and support development, not only giving your baby the best start to life but providing positive long term outcomes too.
Becoming Parents
If you’re starting a family through surrogacy, planning to become parents starts in the early days of pregnancy. With current accessible maternity services offering minimal education and support for intended parents, this is the perfect place for your journey with me to start.
I’m on hand to not only help you learn about the pregnancy process in detail but to help you navigate NHS and Private Maternity systems, so you can control and plan your involvement. I can help educate around the legalities of surrogacy and support the health professionals involved in your care with this too. My aim is to enable good communication and smooth transitions between everyone involved, while empowering you to be heard as Intended parents.
I provide expert guidance in readiness for you meeting your baby and support to help you navigate the crucial fourth trimester, equipping you with the confidence to embrace parenthood and the knowledge to understand your baby’s adjustment to life outside the womb. With up-to-date, evidence-based information and hands-on support, I work to strengthen early attachment and promote healthy development, giving your baby the best possible start while fostering positive long-term outcomes for your family.
